Privacy Policy

1. Data We Collect

We collect the following types of information when you use JAOT:

  • Account information: email address, name, and organization name provided during registration.
  • Usage data: optimization models you create, solver executions, credit transactions, and feature usage patterns.
  • Cookies: essential cookies for session management and authentication, plus optional analytics cookies (with your consent).
  • Technical data: browser type, device information, and IP address for security and service operation.

2. How We Store Your Data

Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database with encryption at rest. All data transmission is encrypted using TLS. Organization data is logically isolated in our multi-tenant architecture, ensuring that only members of your organization can access your data.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate JAOT:

  • Stripe: payment processing for credit purchases and subscriptions. Stripe processes your payment information directly; we do not store credit card details.
  • Discourse: community forum platform (optional). Your display name and email may be shared via SSO if you access the community forum.

4. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you request account deletion, all associated personal data, models, and execution history will be permanently deleted within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregated usage statistics may be retained for service improvement.

5. Your Rights (GDPR)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to:

  • Access: request a copy of all personal data we hold about you. Use the data export feature in your account settings or contact support.
  • Erasure: request deletion of your account and all associated data. Use the account deletion option in settings or contact support.
  • Portability: export your data in JSON format through the settings page.
  • Rectification: update your personal information through your account settings at any time.
  • Objection: opt out of optional analytics cookies through the cookie consent banner or Cookie Settings.

6. How to Exercise Your Rights

Most data rights can be exercised directly through the JAOT platform via your account settings page, which provides data export and account deletion options. For any requests that cannot be handled through the platform, or if you need assistance, contact us at support@jaot.io. We will respond to all requests within 30 days.

7. Cookie Policy

JAOT uses the following types of cookies:

  • Essential cookies: required for session management, authentication, and core site functionality. These cannot be disabled.
  • Analytics cookies (optional): used to understand how users interact with the platform and improve the experience. These are only set with your explicit consent.

You can manage your cookie preferences at any time using the Cookie Settings link in the sidebar footer.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you via email and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
